African wild dogs — also known as painted wolves — are among the most cooperative predators in the bush. Living in close-knit packs, they rely on communication, loyalty, and shared responsibility to survive. While the pack hunts together with incredible speed and coordination, the dogs that stay behind to guard the den — often watching over the pups — are never forgotten. The hunters return to them, regurgitating food so every member, from the smallest pup to the dedicated babysitter, is cared for.
